I used this on a fresh install of Win7 and had no problems. I think it may be related to what chipset and motherboard you are using. Cons: Mini CD with drivers doesn't work in a slot load laptop. Thank you very much. In reply to Huijun's post on November 10, Win 10 automatically enabled the dongle with a driver update during a standard Windows Update session. Now works and recognizes keyboards and mice etc.
